Pip

Hi, I am a 2-year-old male pug.

Have you fallen in love with me yet?

Hello everyone! I’m Pip, a two-year-old pug looking for the perfect home. I am the definition of a velcro pug. I love to snuggle up against my human, and I’ve been known to sit in my foster’s chair when they are trying to work because I just can’t get close enough. This also means I prefer to sleep with my people rather than sleep in a crate. If my human is away from home, I’m happy to stay in my crate with a blanket and toys, but if a human is around, I must be with them.

I have many hobbies. Many are what you would expect from a pug like going on walks, smelling things, learning tricks (I have “sit” and “down” mastered and am now working on “stay”), and playing with squeaky toys. Some of my hobbies are unique to me. My foster reports I am an adventurous goat-pug, who loves climbing on chairs, tables, and bookshelves to see what there is to see and eat what there is to eat. While I thoroughly enjoy this hobby, I only enjoy it when humans are out of the room. My adventurous spirit has also led me to work my way out of harnesses so I can go on adventures to meet new people. My favorite adventure so far was when I went inside Torchy’s Tacos, but my foster did not appreciate this adventure as much as I did.

As you may have noticed, a common theme for me is my love of people. Because I love so deeply, I have a bit of separation anxiety at times. I’ve really been working on my independence, but I may be a bit fussy when I first go on a trial. Also, while I generally get along with other dogs, I love my people so hard I have to guard them and make sure no one out-competes me for human snuggles. While I am willing to negotiate 50/50 custody with my humans, I would probably be best in a home where I’m the only dog.

I’m doing great on house-training. I only have accidents when it’s raining outside. My hatred of wet overpowers my need to use the bathroom. I’ve also decreased my marking since I was neutered, but I still wear a belly band just to be safe.
